Academic Information

The Director of Student Services and Guidance Counselor at Heritage Academy are responsible for student schedules and the tracking of courses to ensure that each student meets the necessary requirements for graduation.

Heritage Academy courses are taught as college preparatory courses. The Academy also offers ESL, Honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses.

Heritage Academy operates on block schedule; therefore, high school students take three classes per semester and receive three credits at the end of the semester.

Our school day is as follows:

Morning Session:

Block 1:    7:15-8:45
Block 2:    8:55-10:25
Block 3:    10:35-12:05

Afternoon Session:

Block 4:    12:40-2:10
Block 5:    2:20-3:50
Block 6:    4:00-5:30

Students must complete 24 Credits while in high school to receive a diploma from Heritage Academy.

Core Classes:

English – 4 credits (to include American & British Literature)
Math – 3 credits (to include Algebra 1 & Geometry)
Science – 3 credits (2 lab sciences)
Social Science – 3 credits (US History & Government/Economics req'd)
Foreign Language – 3 credits (at least 2 in the same language)
Fine Arts – 1 creditP.E. – 1 credit
Electives – 6 credits (to include courses in core areas)
