Welcome to Heritage Academy! As co-heads of school, we are both proud and excited about the upcoming school year and the positive initiatives in place for our diverse 5-12 student body. The Heritage Academy mission guides us: "Heritage Academy is dedicated to providing progressive, differentiated instruction for students who are pursuing an extra-curricular passion and to fostering within students a responsibility and a motivation for learning, a moral respect for personal dignity, and a commitment to accountable global citizenship." This is possible because we have motivated and talented students, dedicated and well-trained faculty and staff, and supportive parents and partners. Nothing at Heritage Academy is more important than the education of our students. It is a charge we take seriously. We are accredited by the South Carolina Independent Schools Association and we offer a full college preparatory secondary program with advanced placement and honors opportunities. We strive to develop lifelong learners. Our students receive a student-centered educational program where respect for and personal engagement in learning is our hallmark. Ours is a school with a short history but one celebrating a long list of accomplishments. Being a special purpose school with a mission designed to complement the "Passion Focus" with a college preparatory program, students from 26 countries and 28 states study on our island campus while they compete at state, regional, national, and international levels in golf, tennis, equestrian, swimming, baseball, sailing, and visual and performing arts. We proudly proclaim the quality of our graduates who have demonstrated year after year that Heritage Academy seniors compete on par with graduates from other college preparatory schools the world over. Schools which our students attend include Dartmouth, Duke, Johns Hopkins, Davidson, Trinity, Pepperdine, Tulane, SMU, Boston University, Clemson, Texas Tech, University of Virginia, Vanderbilt, and Georgia Tech among others.
